Description: In this webinar, learn about the healing process of “My Affirmation Project” started in June 2019 when artist Nicole Leth saved up her paychecks from her yoga teaching job and rented a billboard in downtown Kansas City, Mo., to share words of kindness and love to display her heart for people. Nicole lost her father to suicide when she was 17 years old and has since committed her life to creating beauty, spaces of healing, and public expressions of compassion to care for real human beings in the world.
Nicole will share her story of healing as it has manifested itself in anonymous public art pieces, experiences and intimate takeaways. There have been more than 600 affirmation billboards posted globally since June 2019 that have been viewed by over 60 million humans. More than 60,000 people have received anonymous “Affirmation Postcards” in the mail since 2020, each individually addressed by hand. Nicole’s approach to community mental health is a fresh and exciting one. Her method of launching positive and inspiring messages into our communities is one that is touching millions of people, often when it is least expected and most needed. Her talk will present her work and how she chose to undertake it.
